Farm Hand Wanted – Flinders Island
Farm Hand Wanted – Flinders Island
For 2026 & 2027
We’re seeking a reliable, experienced Farm Hand to join our family-run large Angus cattle farm on Flinders Island.
This is a full-time, long-term role (minimum two years) for someone who enjoys hands-on cattle work and values being part of a small, committed team.
The work includes:
• Daily cattle work (mustering, calving, herd health)
• General farm maintenance – fencing, water systems, pastures
• Operating machinery safely and efficiently
• Working alongside a small team and family owners
We’re looking for someone with:
• Hands-on cattle or farm experience (2+ years preferred)
• Practical skills and a strong work ethic
• Initiative, reliability, and the ability to work independently
• A current Australian driver’s licence
What we offer:
• On-farm accommodation
• A secure, long-term role
• The chance to live and work in a close-knit island community
🌱 A great opportunity for a couple or family
This role is well suited to couples or families looking for a genuine lifestyle change. Alongside the farm, our family also runs On Island Time, a visitor experience and accommodation business on Flinders Island. There is strong potential for a partner to access paid work in tourism, hospitality, guiding, retail, or guest experiences, depending on skills and season.
Flinders Island sits in Bass Strait — just a short flight from Melbourne or Launceston, but it truly feels a world away. Life here is slower, grounded, and deeply connected to land and sea — wide-open spaces, rugged coastlines, fishing, beaches, and strong community spirit.
