Meet Jane Grylls: Flinders Island Chef, Food Stylist & Wellness Food Advocate

We’re incredibly lucky to have someone as talented, creative and generous as Jane Grylls as part of our island community. Jane is an accomplished chef, food stylist and recipe writer whose work is guided by a deep appreciation for beautiful, wholesome food and the people who grow, catch and make it.

Jane calls Flinders Island home, where she brings her exceptional skills to our table — whether she’s styling food for a photoshoot, assisting with special events, or cooking up something delicious for a Park Run Pop-Up. Her philosophy is simple but powerful: good food should nourish and promote wellness, celebrating ingredients in their most natural and honest form.

Looking ahead, Jane will be joining the Outscape team as a host and guide when it launches in 2026. She’ll share her deep knowledge of island life, local food and coastal adventures with visitors who want to experience Flinders through a more connected, authentic lens.

Beyond the kitchen, Jane is an adventurer at heart. When she’s not crafting stunning dishes or styling a feast, you’ll often find her snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters around the island. She’s especially excited to spend time exploring Killiecrankie Bay on her new boat — a well-earned chance to soak up the beauty and inspiration that surrounds her.
